Role:
Housing & Welfare Benefits Adviser

Location:
Wealden Offices (Crowborough, Hailsham). Remote will be considered. This post involves community accessibility, but remote delivery may be possible if local recruitment proves challenging.

Contract:
Part-time, fixed term contract until end...

Hours:
Part-time: 21 hrs per week.

Salary:
£30,024 - FTE which equates to £17,014...

Summary of Role

We are looking for a qualified Citizens Advice Generalist Adviser.

Many of our clients face multiple challenges, including benefits, housing and debt issues.

Role Description

Ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills.

Ability to manage clients independently with remote support.

Identify the root causes of issues, research and explore options.

With a clear focus on preventing homelessness and supporting clients.

Advise on crisis and resilience fund, council tax hardship and related support.

Signpost clients to our specialist Money Advice team where appropriate.

Conduct benefit checks, assist with first time claims, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals.

Act with the client where appropriate, for example by negotiating on their behalf.

Negotiate with third parties such as statutory and non-statutory organisations.

Use the Citizens Advice Public Site and AdviserNet websites.

Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity and quality of advice.

Conduct any other tasks that may be within the scope of the role
